Mrs. Aline M. Abell
Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher, Director of Preschool/Kindergarten, Principal
Ms. Aline, one of our preschool/kindergarten teachers, began teaching at Hayfield in 1994, and is now our principal. She is also a co-director of our preschool/kindergarten program with Ms. Myriam. She has a B.A. in Education from Earlham College, a Masters in Montessori Education from Loyola College, Maryland, and an Association Montessori Internationale Diploma, which she earned in 1994.

Mrs. Myriam Denoncourt-Dobson
First Grade Teacher, Preschool/Kindergarten Director, Administrator
Ms. Myriam, our first grade teacher, also serves as a school administrator, and is co-director of our preschool/kindergarten program. Ms. Myriam holds a B.A. in French and German from Earlham College and a St. Nicholas Montessori Teaching Certificate, which she earned in New York. She joined the Hayfield staff in 1992.

Ms. Cynthia Culter
Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher
Ms. Cynthia began her time at Hayfield Montessori in 1984, when she enrolled her children in the school and began working at Hayfield as an Elementary Assistant. She holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from the University of Louisville. In 2001, she received her St. Nicholas Montessori Teaching Certificate in London, England, and is now one of our preschool/kindergarten teachers.

Mrs. Mary Lipscomb
Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher/Spanish Teacher
Ms. Mary joined our staff in 2001 after teaching Spanish at Assumption High School at the other end of Tyler Lane until 1998. She began by assisting in Ms. Aline’s class and is now teaches one of our preschool/kindergarten classes. She holds a B.A. in Spanish from St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota and received her Montessori teaching certification from the North American Montessori Center in Vancouver, Canada in 2003.

Ms. Karen Pelkey
Preschool/Kindergarten Assistant
Ms. Karen joined us in 2007. Ms. Karen graduated from St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT in May of 2001. She earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism and French. She is currently enrolled in the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis and just completed her first of three summers toward the AMI teaching certificate. She has also just applied to the master's in education program at Loyola College in Baltimore, which will provide her with nine additional credits over one summer at the Loyola campus that will round out her Montessori training and result in a Master's degree.

Mrs. Tina Phillips
Preschool/Kindergarten Assistant
Ms. Tina holds a bachelors degree in elementary education from Western Kentucky University. Before joining Hayfield Montessori, she earned her previous experience as a Kindergarten assistant in Bowling Green and as a substitute teacher for Community Catholic and JCPS. She spent 14 years working with children in the emergency shelter program at Home of the Innocents and was a shift supervisor at the time she resigned to come to Hayfield. Ms. Tina began as a teaching assistant at Hayfield in 2006, and she is currently receiving training through Montessori Centre International to become a certified Montessori teacher.

Ms. Dheera Shah
Assistant/Yoga Instructor
Ms. Dheera joined Hayfield as an assistant teacher in 2003. She holds a diploma in Home Science from India. A routine attendee of Montessori teaching workshops, she is also Hayfield’s yoga instructor.

Ms. Blair White
Elementary Assistant/Music Teacher
Ms. Blair started at Hayfield in 2007 and began pursuing her Montessori certification the next year. Ms . Blair earned her B.A. from Earlham College as a Major in Human Development and Social Relations with an emphasis in Education, and a Minor in Music. Her previous experience includes assisting at a Friends school, working as an Americorps member at a middle school, and volunteering in a classroom at a charter school in Richmond, Indiana. As well as assisting in the preschool and elementary classrooms, she is also the music enrichment teacher at Hayfield.
